In 1974 I had to take a slide rule test to get into Texas A&M engineering
school. No big deal (I was quite good) but a student whose Dad just shelled
out $400 for a new calculator complained. Following exchange:
Student; "Why can't I use my calculator? It's a thousand times more
accurate!"
Prof: "All that thing will tell you is the wrong answer *exactly*."
