Ken Stone started doing exactly that w/ his dev blocks, I think he calls them.. They're in his module list on his website.
He hasn't gotten as far as you are talking about, but he's got several available. (gate & trigger blocks, buffer/amp blocks, etc)
It would be cool to see a lot more of them, though, like you are talking about. Just a bunch of building blocks.
Anyone else getting sad in the northern hemisphere, that the warm weather is getting here? I'd love to work on some synth projects this afternoon, but have to mow the lawn.. and this weekend have to clean gutters and windows, and the next weekend more maintenance, etc etc.. almost time to shelve my projects for a few months :(

"hierarchical blocks". These are simply little circuits with named
connectors which are saved to their own Multisim files.
