I had one.  Built it in 2000, got rid of it a year or two ago.

Out of the box you have to modify it ( look on PAIA's site for the Clarifier
mod which adds a bunch of buffers ) and you should also add level pots all
over the place so you can even out the response of the unit.

Fun to build I suppose, works after a fashion.  I ditched it and have been
slowly acquiring all the modules for a Doepfer Vocoder specifically because
I like analog vocoders, but when drunk I'll admit that digital ones work
better...
