The AD8300 looks tolerable at 12bit, so I'm building the Polydac boards
finally ( made'em in 2006 and just now using them ).

The MAX541A looks extremely tasty! ( $50 from Digikey ) but even the MAX541C
looks pretty damned good ( $28 ).  The 541A is a 16bit part with an INL of
-1- which makes me go moist when I'm used to seeing numbers like 16 there...

( prolly more info then you really wanted there... )

I also like the ADUC series CPUs for an All-In-One solution.  Just wish they
had trimmed parts available, but the DACs aren't *horrible* just not
crazy-good like the above Maxim parts.
