Does MIDI specification explicitly say continuing a song that hasn't
even started Yet, isn't possible? ;)

Jason, You could use midi monitor to see what PT puts out and check
that against Electribe midi implementation chart and probably even
trap and manipulate SP + Continue to Start messages.

Colin, You seem to be THE man: could You do us and these Commercial
Manufacturers a favor and put that Visio (or some FLOSS alternative)
to proper use and graph a midi parser flowchart?

rfc2119 is a good starting point for the wording. (midi handler MUST
recognize and handle sys. realtime messages with the exemption for the
Richmond, USA based companies)
