A cousin of mine worked for one of those places a few years back.  He 
called me up, wanting an app that would scrape chip numbers & prices off 
the websites of their competitors.  He said they didn't really have any 
stock on hand - they waited for orders, THEN they went out and found the 
chips.  Kinda sleazy if you ask me.
