[sdiy] Buying semi-rare components - fed up with dealers quoting on stock they dont have.

Im trying to buy some parts, specifically a load of japanease transistors (2sc2291/2sc1583/2sk30ao)

...however, i seem to having more trouble than usual with suppliers.  Some will wait untill the last moment, before admitting they 
dont have the stock, and others even after this point (ie take payments, and then refund!)

Im wondering what other people do when they want to buy semi-rare stuff in quantities where its not just feasible to pay ebay 
prices?

Any specific dealers recommended?
