Hi Ian,

> Has anyone thought to do multiples with attenuators on them?

I did - but it developed differently.
During last summer I pondered over a rather freely configurable filter
setup and talked privatly about that (hey Tom! ;-) but ditched that
thoughts in favour of a more versatile patch matrix module.
Patch matrix instead of a multiple I've to say.
I've had several ways to approach this.

My favourite was a X by Y matrix with an inverting VCA at each node.
This got pretty large for obvious reasons (just a small a 8x8 matrix
would mean 64 VCAs plus inverters etc.) so I opted for a switching
matrix with inverting VCAs on each input of X and Y.
On a still small matrix like 8x8 this would mean 16 circuits - which
is better but not as versatile.
However - any of this approaches would be a more or less huge module.

For my next long-term project (suit case size synth) I'd prefer a
properly buffered ghilmetti matrix which then again has no attenuators
(pots or VCAs) by itself.
I still didn't conclude on this.
It also may happen that I'll just utilise a more or less clever patch
matrix.

   Michael.
