[sdiy] Dynamic numbers of Mults

While that's not it exactly, this is probably the way I'll go if I can figure this other way out.  It seems like the issue with the 910 is that there's always 3 jacks that are off limits, and they're always in groups of 4 (sorta).  In practice, though, this may really not be a concern.  There used to be a picture floating around of the wiring of the 910.  Does anyone know where it is?

Sounds like the MOTM 910.

I had the idea that it would be handy to build a mult with a string of jacks
that only sent a signal to the next jack in line when a plug was inserted.
So, if you had, say 16 jacks in a row, and you plugged a source into #1,
that signal would only go to #2 when a plug was inserted there.  That signal
would pass on to # 3 when a plug was inserted there.  If you skip #4 no
signal is passed on, so then a source plugged into #5 could then be passed
on to #6 when a plug was inserted there.  This way, I'm not stuck with
mulitples of 4.  It could be as few as 2, or as many as 16, as long as you
skip a jack in the chain between multipled groups.

So, does this necessitate finding a switched jack that is normally open, and
closes on contact?  I'm having a little trouble getting my brain all the way
around this...

Thanks-
dave
