This is a laptop which you plug directly into the mains?

Probably just need to re-flow the joints of the mains socket.

Laptops with external power adaptors get the same problem with the DC
jacks - especially the smaller ones. The one on my recent-model
ThinkPad is BIG - far less likely to get damaged by those lateral
forces. The actual DC plugs on these tend to fail more often. Actually
managed to repair the moulded plug on my wife's laptop - cut it open,
soldered the wires in (which were crimped,) epoxied rubber back on,
heat-shrink sleeving round the lot. (Lots of it, for strain relief.)

By the way, for those of us who don't come into contact with Apple
hardware (other than my eyeProd,) what's Magsafe?
