In the UK, they deliver and a VAT invoice arrives from FEDEX some time
later. I nearly got stung by this when doing a MIDIbox group bulk order: I
was just about to send out the invoices when they all went up by around 20%.
17.5% VAT and an admin fee which seems to be worked out on a fixed fee plus
a variable based on the number of different item lines.

Best for me were Digikey: the parts arrive and you pay just the VAT directly
to the driver on delivery.

Mouser have now set up a UK office, so the VAT thing will get better, I
hope.
