These look good actually, and RS carry quite a range of variations. I'm
not too bothered about how far they protrude ... like you say they could
be mounted deeper if necessary. Only thing I noticed was the datasheet
says panel thickness 1.5mm which might be a bit thin for alu modular
panels ... I guess I should buy a couple to see for myself (I'm not even
sure it's the right datasheet as the part number doesn't correspond
exactly with anything in the datasheet).

Fortunately I have an account with RS so they will send a courier right
to my front door at zero cost, even just for 1 push button ... probably
why their prices are on the high side! Thanks anyway.
