The EU directive only covers transfers in the same currency, so the UK banks
get around it.
My bank charges me 7ukp minimum to receive a transfer, unless the sender
specifically pays all fees.
I have often found that if the sender 'ticks the box' for covering all fees,
they don't get charged any extra, and I don't get charged the 7 quid.
So if they are given the option to charge a fee, the bank just takes the
piss.
Yet another scam of the British banking industry.
