I am tempted to say that the answer to this is the same as to the power
rating of an engine in a Roys Rolls car... sufficient.
I would go for a range of -5 V to +5 V at all times. You rarely need
more and you can easilly dampen it down with a pot to less.
The pulse going from 0 to 5V seems reasnoble, as it fits the trigger for
S/H, ADSR, sequencers and similar...
The saw/triangle/ramp shape is soooo usefull. I use it alot.
