I didn't say that I wouldn't. I simply wasn't aware that it is as  
available as it still seems to be. I've got a few in my parts drawer,  
but I bought those *years* ago, and had assumed I'd struggle to find  
more. But it's in production, and costs less than a £1, which is  
about the cheapest per-VCA cost of any of those chips, I think. So  
for linear VCAs, it certainly seems to be the best choice.
