[sdiy] Problem with Vermona DRM I mkii voice

I just bought a Vermona DRM I mkII and discovered that one of the 8
drum voices does not seem to be working correctly. The 4th voice
called "multi" which is supposed to emulate a cowbell is super
quiet/faint.
You can hear the click part of the sound (not sure if each drum sound
has a click synthesized component mixed in) but the pitched parts are
very very low in volume. Also the volume pot for that channel is a
little scratchy.
I know it is hard for anyone to know what is wrong without having a
look at the circuit but I was wondering if anyone had an educated
guess??
The whole machine is in pristine condition and is well built (I took a
look inside). What would be a typical failure that would cause that
part to simply be too quiet? Bad coupling cap? Failed opamp? Failed
VCA (mostly CA8030's inside)
any tips are very appreciated!!
cheers,
Danjel
