That would be the resistor in the R/C timing network for setting pulse
width, not the 1M pulldown resistor?
I did go as far as to double the cap to 200nF, and lower the resistor
to 470K for the R/C values, but maybe that wasn't enough?
Come to think of it, it was originally a 100K along with a 10nF, and I
don't think it showed the same behaviour then...
