Indeed - good integration between the customer, the staff and the
materials at hand, without fencing things off.  This sort of
arrangement is very fruitful when developing ideas.  I just want to
look at and touch a bunch of materials, including especially things I
didn't know existed, to prompt some constructive thoughts.

Can anyone suggest a similar place for aluminium, metal or plastic in
general in Melbourne Australia?

There was a Capral aluminium place in Preston which was good like
this - I see they are now in Thomastown, not far away.
