[sdiy] Aluminum sheet for panels, cheap!

I just thought I'd pass along a little bit of information regarding a source
for very cheap aluminum for DIY front panels.

As I'm just finishing a handful of modules, I was looking for 1/8" 5052
aluminum sheet at a decent price, preferably precut to the correct sizes.
After several dead ends, I was finally directed to a place called "Metal
Supermarkets" which has two stores in the BC Lower Mainland, and many more
all over North America. For a 2U x 5U panel (3.5" x 8.75") the going price
is a whopping $2.10 (Canadian). He also said that I could estimate the cost
of other pieces by assuming about $10 per square foot, and to forget about
the cost of cutting it.

If I'd known it was going to be that cheap, I wouldn't have bothered making
the panels out of cardboard first!
