[sdiy] best method for clocking modular to DAW?

James is right to suggest this. I used to use the kick drum on a Boss
Dr Rhythm drum machine as simple MIDI-to-clock-pulse convertor. The
keypad had died on the drum machine, making it more-or-less unusable,
but it was still good for this.

I didn't have an S&H, but I could use the kick to trigger the
envelopes in my Pro-One via its external audio input.

Somebody somewhere must have written a simple MIDI-clock-to-clock-
pulse convertor for PIC or other simple uP though?
Read a MIDI input via onboard UART, spit out +5V pulses from a pin
when MIDI sync arrives. You could set it up for 1/8th notes, 1/4
notes, etc, or output each different rate from a separate pin. Anyone
know of such a thing?
