[sdiy] best method for clocking modular to DAW?

Today i was trying to lock my BABY 10 sequencer to my Logic song.

What i was doing was sending out a steady hi-hat on a drum machine plug in and sending this into Ian's
T/G/T/S/H (which is a sample hold module but i use it a lot for converting audio to a gate or trigger signal)

I then take a gate (or trigger) out of this and feed it into the clock in of the BABY 10.

I then take the Gate out from this and plug it into my adsr.

So far the results have been mixed

If i want the sequence to be as fast as the DAW tempo, i have to program the original hi hat in double or triple time.

so....i was wondering how other do this. maybe using DRUM MACHINE plugin isnt the way to go?

i would love to start doing more stuff where the drums in a track trigger my modular, or clock it.

thanks so much
