[sdiy] latched input 8 bit DAC to replace ZN428?

hi Dan,

I did a parametric search on Analog Devices site

http://www.analog.com/dynamic/parametric/scResultsDisplay.asp?
SearchType=PSS&ProductLine=DAC&la=en

I found 10 chips that might be suitable, although I wasn't able to
find out if they have a latch built in (no tick box for that
parameter!).

Still, you can soon sort it down to all the 8-bit chips with a
parallel interface in DIP format. Then you've got ten devices to
check out, with most prices from $2 to $6.

Hope this helps,
Regards,
Tom
