Generally speaking, in a Buchla, all CV inputs react linearly to the
user. I mean, since all pitch, filter cutoff and VCA gains are
exponential, you need to send them a linear CV. Envelopes are linear,
etc. Because of this and the fact that almost everything is voltage
controlled, most everything needs a linear pot for it's panel control.
The exceptions are attentuators on audio and FM inputs and time
constants that are not voltage controlled (280, 255, 230). The sliders
on a 208 are audio taper with a tapering resistor to make them more of
an S curve. This should make them a little more sensitive in the
middle where the action is. Is that why the lines on the panel are
closer together in the middle of the slider's travel? In practice,
you will have good luck using linear control on your clone modules.
