[sdiy] Making slots for sliders

The only time I've done sliders was for the Klee project -- I used my
CNC machine, slowly routing out the slots with multiple passes -- worked
out pretty good in the end.
One of the other Beta-testers also used sliders -- Uncle Krunkus -- and
he put up some details somewhere in a Klee thread (on EM forum) about
his process. If I remember right he used one of those 'nibblers', the
hand-tools that allow you to bite off little bits of metal. I think he
was more patient than I'd have been and his results were pretty good!
Interestingly, he made use of a separate slider panel which would sit
above a large rectangular hole on the main frontpanel.

Something I'm going to be doing soon -- taking further steps along the
PCB frontpanel routes (using 3mm PCB material via PCBcart) -- slot
cutting using their standard 2mm routing bits, coupled with 30mm Alpha
sliders (from Futurlec) with rubber switch caps on top (from Small Bear).

Good luck! Slot cutting is certainly not an easy DIY route and I think
that's a major reason why we don't seen many people using sliders.

Cheers,
Tom / BugBrand
