Hi Laurie,
Certainly! Itlld be crazy to supply panels with no marking for the drill
points at all!
The engraving head is set to make a small dot where the hole should be
drilled.
The 'dot' is a tiny indentation created by the engraving cutter, and can be
used to locate a punch for subsequent drilling.
A 'dot' is actually better than cross hairs as it locates the punch more
firmly. With cross hairs you can be anywhere on the x or y axis - you still
have to use your eyes to locate the punch. With a dot you can do it by
feel, which is both quicker and more precise.
Drilling panels in this way isnt that much bother at all, its just if you
have a whole stack of them to do, and some other job you should otherwise be
doing.... : )
