Wayback in time with no USB-sticks (well, back-up-awareness probably
hasn't increased since anyway) we had floppies.. and just how NICE it
was to have Grad students with papers 2 weeks due to come with their
floppies telling: "Computer won't read it and I've written the half of
the paper since I copied it from my home computer" and then working on
raw disk copies extracting Word .doc data to be found, handling over
another disk: "This is what I could do, the most of the raw text
should be there - the garbage is Word formatting. Remember to back-up"
- I bet they did.
