[sdiy] OT: how to save a dead Raided Drive?

try what scott said and then try with a good recovery software like  
Stellar and good hard disk utility like disk warrior (you are on mac  
right?)... i had very good results with those tools and lacie drives

also... it could be a mirrored raid, so if one drive fails  
mechanically the data *should* be available on the other one (and  
then your available space will be only 250Gb)

also... swap cables and ports

also ... check the drives power supply, i've often found that to be  
the problem
