[sdiy] OT: how to save a dead Raided Drive?

If it's RAID then it's RAID 0, all the data is striped across both drives with no redundancy, so if one drive fails, all the data is lost. If the drives were independent (no RAID, no data striping), they would likely have separate drive letters. You may want to try to put the drives into an identical Lacie enclosure, which should tell you if it's a controller issue (of course there are other ways to go about it as well).
