[sdiy] speaking of drilling... Small drill press recommendations?

That looks like a nice machine for the money. Regarding the laser, I
would only use it as a guide. Any drill bit however sharp will tend to
"wander"
especially if it is small. The only sure way to do it is to use a
centre punch to indent the panel where the hole is needed to guide the
bit. With anything
I would always start with a "pilot" hole no bigger than say 1/8" and
then enlarge the hole with bigger drill(s) to the required size. This
will usually be quite
accurate.
