[sdiy] speaking of drilling... Small drill press recommendations?

I second the craftsman, albeit i'm unsure about the accuracy of the laser so i keep my eyeballs on the bit. And as others have said; for exact placement use a small bit and slowly increase the bit size to the final hole. Personally i think step bits are pretty inaccurate and don't give enough precision - but again, maybe mine is just too worn..
