Reminds me of an incident way back when I was a student, building some audio projects at EMI.  For some reason we heard a little "zzp" sound every 15 seconds or so.  Took us ages to work out what it was, until we looked out the window and noticed the main radar at Heathrow airport slowly turning...

... zzp ... zzp ... zzp ...
