You might be TOTALLY right.. DeoxIT® FaderLube by Caig? Behind my
reasoning is that the original lubricant - this is purely between the
pot shaft and the shell, a mechanical problem, has lost its viscosity
which is most likely cured with _a tiny drop_ of WD-40. It's not
definitely meant to enter the resistive track - where it might
seemingly work wonders on noisy pots (Scratchy?) for 3 months and
after that the problem is even worse. The track might be fine, but all
that dust, carbon particles makes it "bad". Those need mechanical
cleaning.
