Never thought about feeding different signals to the Synthacon before!
Actually I was thinking about putting only one input on the Steiner filter,
and individual pots to attenuate the signal to the 3 different inputs. This
way I would be able to mix the 3 different inputs. Good idea, Adam!
To Derek:
If you really want to select only one input at a given time it is possible
to use an analog switch IC a la 4051, and some logic control to select which
mode to use - for example, a binary counter and a push button as clock, or
something in that line, or even a 3-position ON-OFF-ON switch. Actually I
did something similar in a clone of the Roland System 700 fixed filter bank
I built because I could not find a suitable ON-ON-ON switch ate the time...

Oh, no! Don't do that!
Well, okay, do it if you want to, but if you do, you're missing out on half
the fun of that circuit. See, you can plug different signals into the
different inputs and then the filter acts sort of like a frequency-dependent
mixer, where the frequency control varies the blend of the two or three
input signals. It's a unique effect and arguably one of the reasons to have
the filter in your system at all, because frankly there are many
better-sounding filters out there.
Just my $0.02 worth, of course. Also note that I built my filter from the
Catgirl PCB rather than Marc's, and I don't know how they differ.
