Dieter Doepfer published his "Sound Sampler" System from 1984 either in
a book and maybe also in the german journal "Funkschau" (I don't
remember exactly). It is based on a simple 8bit A/D and 6110 SRAMs,
consisted of one AD-board, and separate voice boards and optional loop
adressboards which could replace the simple 4024-based addresscounter.

The book is available used at www.amazon.de; search for "Sound-Sampler"
and "Doepfer"
