Stumbled across this while looking for something else:
http://www.starlino.com/reverse_surface_mount.html
This describes an interesting method of mounting and attaching
conductors / wires to a VERY tiny surface mount LGA package. I'm
pretty sure this could be modified and adapted for other leadless
packages (maybe a 'dead bug' adaptation with soldered wire lead would
also work in some cases), so if you've ever come across a killer ap
for an IC that is only available in a leadless SMT package, this might
just do the trick.
Editorial comment: Despite the fact that through hole stuff is more
familiar and easier to work with, I think we'll need to come up with
more and more clever solutions like this in the future. Just as
hobbyists had to adapt their tools and techniques when moving from
tubes to transistors, and then from transistors to ICs, we need to
'evolve' and be clever. Viva la DIY!
