Seems like a fairly decent overview. Pretty intuitive approach and  
sufficient pointers & hints for further exploration if you're so  
inclined. Looking around at some of the other material on that site I  
saw a few oversimplifications, but generally it seems accurate and a  
good intro.

That's something I've been curious about too. Over the years of  
subscribing to SDIY I've seen a number of folks posting ROM dumps from  
various sampled synths, but it's usually been to personal sites or  
other other places that are hard to recall. It would be handy if there  
were some centralized archive of stuff like this but I'm sure that  
gathering and maintaining something like that would be a pretty big  
chore. I'd suggest searching the list archives for related keywords,  
but a quick test of that reveals mostly requests for ROMs rather than  
pointers to actual data.
