[sdiy] eagle grid snap - changing from imperial to metric, and encountering complications : /

i havent used eagle for ages, and, again, its hurting my brain.

my current issue is that i want to 'snap' some pots to a 5mm grid spacing, 
as my front pannel is designed in metric.

the issue is that, when i change the grid spacing, the components now move 
in 5mm incraments, but only from their original position.

so, for example, insted of snapping from 0,5,10,15 etc. they snap from 2.54, 
7.54, etc.

the only work arround i can think of is to move all these componets to 0,0 
before changing to metric.  however, there *must* be a sensible way, surely?
