dunno about this particular seq but logic suggests that any sequencer
clocked by a pulse train signal could use pulse width to determine
note duration within each step, independent of tempo. I think your
original plan of a bipolar or flip-flopped signal to give you pushing
and pulling of half-steps within the sequence is very cool, and
probably was not implemented on the SQ10.
