Hi,
well the oc71 transistors only have three legs .....
on the diagram they seem to have used tow wires ( one on each side ) for 
the base connection.
I don't know exactly what the output waveforms look like. certainly on 
some electronic Organs the waveforms from the dividers aren't an exact 
square or sawtooth wave, and these differences do make some difference 
to the sound. I think the Usa made Vox continentals used silicon 
transistors and these affect the output waveforms and hence the sound.
