Tired and with a big backlog, but can't resist:
Two startin' project studio owners at the local corner pub:
DDA Guy: "The damn 8 years old board set me back $2600! That's 100
bucks a chan."
Mackie Guy: "Are You Nuts? Mine was only 1k and has 24 chans and it's
in-line desk, so that's 48 channels at mixdown!"
One YEAR later DDA Guy enters the bar and finds the Mackie guy totally wasted:
DDA Guy: "So, You scored some big Hit? And I'm just having troubles."
Mackie Guy: "No, my desk just blew channels 2 and 23 last week"
DDA Guy: "Really? That happened to me too"
Mackie Guy: "Yeah. I called 5 different technicians. 3 hang up
immediately after I described the problem, one after a manical
laughter and one Quoted me $1600 for the repair"
DDA Guy: "REALLY? I just swapped the channel modules myself in 10
minutes and was back in the business. Can You give me the name of that
Manical laughter tech, so he can fix my spare channel modules?"
Sorry for this utter waste of bandwidth or a praise for old fashioned
thru-hole technology, modular approach and free public service
documents,
Samppa
