[sdiy] arduino module mission

ok so you're patching away and you need another ADSR. unfortunately
you're out of ADSRs, but you have an unused LFO. are you stuck? no,
because you can just connect up your computer to the LFO and change
its brain to be an ADSR instead. a normal enough mission by synth-diy
standards.

sub-mission 1 - make it easy. the promise of the arduino is that
anyone can get their feet wet with microcontrollers in a (relatively)
friendly environment. at least, uploading a new sketch should be a
connect & flip switch type operation.

sub-mission 2 - make it cheap. a boarduino is around $20. the PCB
will hopefully be $10-15. the parts are another $10.

sub-mission 3 - standardise. the Arduino toolset works on any OS.
there kinda is a sw/hw platform spec, and ideally owners would write
sketches that would work on any Arduino module. (not to mention the
huge Ard community already.)

other such projects made by geniuses here could do everything the Ard
does while simultaneously behaving like a 500 voice FM polysynth etc,
but i think the Ard offers a compelling combination of simplicity,
affordability, and control (if not audio) horsepower. it rules as a
MIDI processor.

are we understanding each other now? :-)

(hey Byron, i left my email at home this morning, but your offer of
help is compelling. please ping me and we'll take it further. thanks.)
