Hi SDIY folks,

I propose that we milk the system for allit's worth.

Freescale and Microchip make these tools pretty easy to obtain and are
really cheap.

I have given away tools to those who build audio projects or want to get
deeper into the building of projects.

I always lobby my Marketers to give me a stash of boards to give away with
free MetroWerks tools.

Next year SDIY, I will try and get Paul Maddox some systems to give away as
door prizes. Check out the E-Field platforms and MCU's that support these
projects.

I can usually get these from Marketing for projects that show up at
workshops on the Web. Marketing folks really like to see their products out
in the hands building cool projects.

One of my projects with Line 6 became the ToneCore DDK which Paul showed at
the Cambridge SDIY event. The DSP and MCU software tools are Free and the
ToneCore pedal is just a drop in the bucket on what we can do.

It is hard for me to use PIC as a Freescale employee, but I try to be open
minded and think more about the application.

If anyone wishes to reach me, my email address is
Terry.Shultz at Freescale.com.

C Language and Assembly are the languages that are the most prevalent these
days. I remember Basic was fun to play with but has been replaced over time
by C.

I have friends at AKM as well that would support some projects with samples
of their products as well. I personally prefer AKM as they are pretty
reasonably priced.

Best regards,

Terry Shultz

Paul Maddox knows how to reach me as well.
