Hmmm, I think for at least voice assigner, I'd Agree. But you don't  
need to go nuts with micro control, get a polyDAC, build four voices  
and you're off.
With micro's getting smaller, cheaper and simpler, and coding them  
also gettign simpler, I really don't see why it's an issue.

My person issue with polysynths, is the repetition of building the  
same thing many many times... just plain boring!
