Hi Samppa,

Complicated? Not for someone who understands the input switching 
thresholds, the output voltage swing, and the loading/fanout issues. 
For someone who hasn't been taught this (self-taught or formally), and 
is trying to cobble together schematic A with CD40xx, and schematic B 
with 74LSxx, then yeah, I guess it is complicated.

Even if you're not a pancake in France.
