[sdiy] CMOS chip questions

Hi all.

The datasheets for the 4009/4010 and 4049/4050 mention driving TTL
loads. Can anyone see a problem with using, say a 4050, to convert (up
to) +15V logic to drive a 74HC or a standard 4xxx part running from
+5V? The 4050 would run from +5V at VDD. Just wondered if there was
anything special about the outputs of the 4050 that might cause any
problems for a 74HC.

Inputs to the 4050 would have pull-down resistors.

cheers,
Dave
