Heck, that's nothing. While I was at Tandy from 1980-1986 we used
over 7 million 4558 op amps in 3 of my products :) TL072s were
*too expensive*, they were about $0.21/100,000pcs while the
4558s ran $0.09 and the better audio grade 4559s were $0.12
I could never justify the added cost for the TL072s although I tried
several times.
