While I've gotten Press'n'Peel to work to some pretty insanely accurate
levels ( 144QFP ), its finicky. You have to select your laser printer and
toner carefully, run the printer extra hot and extra dark, and use a heat
press not a laminator or clothes iron. Anyhow, its doable but photo has
been more reliable and only marginally more expensive.
But, there is a question buried in here...
Has anyone tried exposing photo PCB using a projector? A DLP projector
should have dark enough blacks to pull it off. Someone has to have tried
this...
Before I had laser printers or easy access to offset printing equipment, I
would so my pcb layout 2 or 4 times oversize, then take a picture and expose
pcboards using an enlarger. Worked quite well actually. Always thought I
could skip several steps of the process if the computer drove the
enlarger... and projectors are getting cheap... ( hint : find an older DLP
project that takes the $200+ bulb and no one wants to rebulb. Replace bulb
with multi-watt LEDs. Hafta see if high power UV LEDs are available... )
