Along this line I have been looking at silk screen methods and one screen
type basically uses a stencil in the screen....

That's what I was wondering too. I've got a roll of airbrush masking
film on my shelf (used to do airbrush art quite a bit) and if it
could cut that and make detailed stencils that you could stick to a
panel and spraypaint through, that'd be great. Lot of "if"s though.
