there are a number of ways to optimize FPE files... losing the infill (if you have a darker anodized panels) is one trick; another is to combine text objects by using multiple lines and adjusting line spacing.  if you get to a production situation, the ultimate savings is to do all the graphics as a single HPGL engraving object--not very flexible, and you need a CAD program to create the HPGL.
