[sdiy] (very OT?) Analog vs. Analogue - opinions needed

I'm a dumb american, but generally use the Ue spelling just to be different.  (if it were a paper for work or school, I wouldn't)
Having said that, in reality I look at the shortening and simplification while still conveying the same amount of information as progress!  Why not have language and spelling as simple as can be, as long as you aren't loosing any information in the process.
